Dan Sokoto picks PDP nomination form for state assembly race

Ridwan Dan Sokoto, Chief Executive Officer of Dan Sokoto Motors, has officially obtained the nomination and expression of interest forms of the People’s Democratic Party to contest for the Kwara State House of Assembly seat representing Afon Constituency in the 2027 general elections.
The forms were picked up on Tuesday at the PDP State Secretariat in Ilorin in the presence of party supporters, youth leaders and stakeholders drawn from the eight wards of Afon Constituency.
Speaking after receiving the forms, Dan Sokoto described the development as a commitment to provide responsive and accountable representation for the people of Afon.
According to him, his ambition is focused on giving the constituency stronger representation and pursuing development in critical areas such as roads, education, youth empowerment and rural infrastructure.
He also commended the PDP leadership at the state and local government levels for creating what he described as a level playing field for aspirants, while pledging to run an issue-based campaign centred on grassroots needs.
Dan Sokoto urged residents of the constituency to support his aspiration, assuring them of integrity, energy and competence if elected.
The event featured prayers, solidarity chants and pledges of support from youth and women groups ahead of the party primaries.
He further reaffirmed loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party and expressed readiness to work with stakeholders for the unity and success of the party in the 2027 elections.
