Sadaukin Sakkwato Visits Newly Appointed Indonesian Ambassador, Strengthens Humanitarian Ties

The Deputy Secretary, World Zakat and Waqf Forum who triple as the National Chairman of the Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators in Nigeria (AZAWON) and also the Chairman Sokoto State Zakat and Waqf (Endowment) Agency Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki , has paid a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Nigeria,
Bambang Suharto, where he formally congratulated him on his recent appointment.
During the visit, Sadaukin Sakkwato conveyed warm greetings on behalf of the World Zakat and Waqf Forum , Association of Zakat and Waqf Operators in Nigeria and the Sokoto State Zakat and Waqf Commission (SOZECOM) and commended the longstanding cordial relationship between Nigeria and Indonesia. Furthermore, Sadauki highlighted the significant strides both nations have made in advancing humanitarian cooperation, particularly in areas such as poverty alleviation, education, healthcare delivery, and sustainable community development.
The meeting also featured a bilateral discussion centered on strengthening collaboration in humanitarian services and Islamic social finance. Both parties explored opportunities for deepening partnerships in Zakat and Waqf administration, with a shared vision of enhancing social protection mechanisms and supporting vulnerable populations.
Sadaukin Sakkwato emphasized the importance of leveraging institutional frameworks and international cooperation to scale impactful interventions, noting that Indonesia’s experience in Islamic social finance presents valuable lessons for Nigeria.
In his remarks, Ambassador Bambang Suharto expressed appreciation for the visit and reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with Nigeria, particularly in humanitarian development and people-centered initiatives.
The engagement marks a significant step toward reinforcing bilateral relations and expanding collaborative efforts aimed at promoting inclusive development, compassion, and global solidarity between both nations.
