ALL SCHOOLS UNDER SUBEB TO RESUME FOR 3RD TERM ON MONDAY

The general public in Sokoto State is hereby informed that the second term holiday will end on Sunday, 10/05/2026, while the third term academic session will commence on Monday, 11/05/2026, in all primary and junior secondary schools under the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
A statement signed by the Executive Chairman of SUBEB, Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, disclosed that the Board has completed all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and successful commencement of the third term academic activities.
The Executive Chairman called on all stakeholders in the basic education sector, including parents and guardians, traditional rulers, School-Based Management Committees (SBMCs), and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs), to give maximum support toward ensuring that pupils and students resume school promptly.
Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal also directed Education Secretaries and School Support Officers to immediately commence monitoring and supervision of schools under their respective jurisdictions to ensure full compliance with the resumption timetable.
He further revealed that the SUBEB Board will constitute three monitoring committees, each to be headed by one of the Permanent Members of the Board, to oversee and assess the level of school resumption across the three senatorial zones of the state.
The Executive Chairman equally urged teachers to reciprocate the good gesture and support extended to them by the administration of Governor Ahmad Aliyu through improved welfare packages and prompt payment of salaries.
In view of this, he further appealed to teachers to remain dedicated and committed to their responsibilities by reporting to duty on time and observing official closing hours in line with their professional obligations.
He also encouraged all education personnel to diligently carry out their assigned duties while calling on parents to continue supporting teachers by ensuring that their children are sent to school on time, in order to achieve the desired educational goals.
