Sokoto, Nigeria – May 8th, 2026: The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of Phase III of the Nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, set to begin on May 11th, 2026, and continue until July 10th, 2026.
As the final opportunity for eligible citizens to register and obtain their Permanent Voter’s Cards (PVCs), the Commission urges all residents of Sokoto State to take advantage of this chance. The CVR exercise will be conducted both online via pre-registration and physical registration points for in-person registration.
Honorable Umar Yusuf Garba, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for INEC Sokoto, is calling on the people of Sokoto to ensure they are registered ahead of upcoming elections. He emphasized the importance of participation in the electoral process and encouraged every eligible individual to make use of this final window to avoid being left out.
“Your participation is critical to the growth of our democracy. We urge everyone in Sokoto State to register and collect their PVCs as this is the final chance before the exercise concludes. The deadline for registration is fast approaching, so act now,” said Honorable Garba.
The CVR process includes both online and physical registration, with specific timelines for each activity. Additionally, individuals who have lost their PVCs, need to transfer their registration, or wish to update their information can now handle these processes without visiting the INEC office. These services can be accessed online at cvr.inecnigeria.org, providing a convenient and efficient option for all registered voters.
The Commission urges everyone to abide by the timelines and ensure that all necessary steps are completed within the provided period.
