SOKOTO EDUCATION COMMISSIONER URGES PARENTS TO ENSURE PROMPT RETURN OF STUDENTS TO SCHOOL AFTER SALLAH BREAK

The Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Sokoto State, Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala, on Tuesday chaired a high level management meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters to review reports on school resumption and other issues affecting the education sector.
The meeting, which commenced at about 7:15 a.m., was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Sanusi Aliyu Binji, directors of the ministry, and heads of agencies and parastatals under the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
During the meeting, reports submitted by various monitoring teams indicated that many students in schools visited across the state had not yet returned from the Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) break.
Reacting to the reports, Professor Ala called on parents and guardians to ensure that their children and wards return to school promptly in order to continue their academic activities without disruption.
He emphasized the importance of regular school attendance in achieving the state government’s goal of improving educational outcomes and maintaining academic standards.
The Commissioner also led discussions on key issues concerning the development of the education sector in Sokoto State, including strategies aimed at enhancing teaching, learning, monitoring, and overall school performance.
Following the briefing session, various ministry teams were deployed across the state to continue ongoing monitoring and supervision exercises in schools and educational institutions.
The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring effective service delivery, improved school management, and the successful implementation of educational policies and programmes across Sokoto State.
