The All Progressives Congress (APC)   candidates contesting for various electoral positions in Sokoto State have been warned against pasting their campaign posters on roundabouts,  public and private structures across the state.
A statement issued on Tuesday in Sokoto by Mohammed Umar, the state
Publicity Secretary of the party, said that the advice was given by the state APC Chairman, Hon. Haruna S. G. Adiya.
According to the Chairman, such posters mutilated these roundabouts on which hugh amount of money was expended to beauty them.
He described the act as a violation of public order and environmental regulations. He stressed that roundabouts are public assets meant for traffic management and  purposes, not advertising spaces.
“All candidates must immediately stop defacing these strategic public locations with posters.
” Such actions not only create visual pollution but also pose safety risks for motorists and pedestrians,” the chairman cautioned.
He further announced that the party will enforce strict sanctions against any candidate found violating the directive, urging supporters to report any infractions to the party’s disciplinary committee.
