SEN. MAIDOKI’S COORDINATORS REJECT ADC, PLEDGE LOYALTY TO GOV. NASIR IDRIS

The state, local government and ward coordinators of Senator Garba Musa Maidoki, representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, have distanced themselves from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and reaffirmed their loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Governor Nasir Idris.
The coordinators, drawn from across Kebbi South, declared their support during a meeting with the Governor in Birnin Kebbi.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Alhaji Bello Doya Zuru said the coordinators had unanimously resolved not to follow Senator Maidoki to the ADC following his departure from the APC.
He explained that their decision was informed by Governor Idris’ people-oriented leadership, commitment to justice, and the numerous developmental projects executed across Kebbi State, particularly in Kebbi South.
Alhaji Bello Doya further stated that coordinators from Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski, Zuru, Koko/Besse, Sakaba and other local government areas had personally come to assure the Governor of their unwavering support. According to him, the gathering was a demonstration of confidence in Governor Idris’ administration and a clear endorsement of his development agenda.
Also speaking, the Zonal Coordinator, Alhaji Atiku Alaramma, commended Governor Idris for his fairness, accessibility and commitment to the welfare of the people. He noted that the Governor’s leadership style had continued to attract support from different segments of society, including farmers, traders and community leaders across Kebbi South.
Alaramma described Governor Idris as a leader who has consistently prioritised the needs of ordinary citizens through interventions in agriculture, education, healthcare and social welfare.
He added that the Governor’s generosity and concern for the welfare of Kebbi pilgrims during Hajj operations remained unmatched and had earned him the admiration of many people.
He assured the Governor that the coordinators would continue to mobilise support for the APC and his administration, expressing confidence that the people of Kebbi South would remain firmly behind Governor Idris because of the visible impact of his policies and programmes.
Responding, Governor Nasir Idris thanked the coordinators for their confidence in his administration and their decision to remain in the APC. He described their support as a demonstration of political maturity and commitment to the progress and unity of Kebbi State.
The Governor said his administration would remain focused on delivering democratic dividends to the people, stressing that governance is about service, development and improving the living conditions of citizens.
He urged party members to remain united and continue working for the success of the APC at all levels.
Governor Idris stated that despite attempts by critics to discredit his administration, the achievements of his government remained visible across the state. He disclosed that his administration had renovated 30 general hospitals and constructed four additional hospitals to strengthen healthcare delivery. He lamented that despite these achievements, some political opponents continued to spread false narratives that the government had accomplished nothing.
The Governor also dismissed allegations concerning security and infrastructure, explaining that his administration provides substantial monthly support to all security agencies operating in the state, not just the military as alleged.
He recalled that some individuals had opposed and attempted to frustrate the Koko–Zuru Road project, insisting it could not be completed. He expressed satisfaction that the road was now nearing completion and would soon be commissioned for the benefit of the people.
Governor Idris further defended his support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that Kebbi State had benefited immensely from several Federal Government projects and interventions.
He maintained that his administration would not be distracted by political propaganda but would continue to pursue programmes and projects that directly improve the welfare, security and prosperity of the people of Kebbi State.
In a related development, hundreds of supporters of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from Yauri and Fakai Local Government Areas defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State.
Receiving the defectors, Governor Idris expressed delight over the development and assured them of equal treatment, fairness and full integration into the APC.
