As the new leadership of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter, assumed office Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) PTML Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Comptroller (DC) Nura Ibrahim Miko, has assured the chapter of the Command’s commitment to supporting the new leadership, which is headed by his wife, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko.
DC Miko gave the assurance during the handover ceremony at the PTML Command Headquarters, where Hajiya Miko formally assumed office as Chairperson, succeeding Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, the wife of the immediate past CAC, Comptroller Joe Anani, who has since assumed the position of Controller, NCS Tin-Can Island Port Area Command.
Describing the event as more than a leadership transition, DC Miko noted that it symbolized continuity, service, and the contributions of Customs officers’ spouses to the NCS family.
He commended Mrs. Anani for her exemplary leadership and impactful projects, saying her administration strengthened the association and positively impacted members and the wider Customs community.
Miko underscored COWA’s role in fostering stability at home, enabling officers to perform their duties in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
He said: “While officers are engaged in official duties, COWA members ensure that our homes remain stable, peaceful, and productive. A stable home is the foundation of effective service delivery, and for this invaluable contribution, we remain profoundly grateful.”
Congratulating Hajiya Miko, the CAC expressed confidence in her capacity to build on her predecessor’s achievements and lead the association to greater heights.
He assured COWA of the Command’s support through logistics, operations, and moral backing for its programmes.

Under the outgoing administration, the PTML Chapter successfully executed several initiatives, including International Women’s Day celebrations, the “COWA Healthy Wife, Wealthy Life” sensitisation programme, breast cancer awareness campaigns, end-of-year outreach activities, participation in the Green Border Initiative School Adoption Programme, and environmental awareness lectures.
Describing these achievements as a worthy legacy, Hajiya Miko pledged to build on them while aligning her administration with the broader vision of the national leadership.
Aligned with the National Headquarters’ agenda, Hajiya Miko pledged that her administration will prioritize and sustain the key areas of providing welfare; strengthening support systems for wives of officers, especially during challenging times; providing empowerment; expanding skills acquisition and financial independence programmes for members; rendering community service; and deepening the chapter’s impact through health, education, and environmental initiatives.

Under the outgoing administration, the PTML Chapter successfully executed several initiatives, including International Women’s Day celebrations, the “COWA Healthy Wife, Wealthy Life” sensitisation programme, breast cancer awareness campaigns, end-of-year outreach activities, participation in the Green Border Initiative School Adoption Programme, and environmental awareness lectures.
Describing these achievements as a worthy legacy, Hajiya Miko pledged to build on them while aligning her administration with the broader vision of the national leadership.
Aligned with the National Headquarters’ agenda, Hajiya Miko pledged that her administration will prioritize and sustain the key areas of providing welfare; strengthening support systems for wives of officers, especially during challenging times; providing empowerment; expanding skills acquisition and financial independence programmes for members; rendering community service; and deepening the chapter’s impact through health, education, and environmental initiatives.
She outlined a three-pronged agenda centred on welfare, empowerment, and community service.
According to her, special attention will be given to strengthening support systems for officers’ wives, particularly during difficult periods, while expanding skills acquisition and entrepreneurship programmes designed to promote financial independence and self-reliance.
She also promised to deepen the association’s interventions in healthcare, education, environmental sustainability, and other community-focused initiatives.
“These achievements set a high standard, and I pledge to sustain this momentum. In line with the National Headquarters’ agenda, my administration will prioritise welfare, empowerment, and community service to ensure that COWA remains a force for positive change,” she stated.
Hajiya Miko thanked her predecessor, Mrs. Anani, for her dedication and the solid foundation she has laid for the chapter.
Noting that Mrs. Anani served with passion and integrity, Hajiya Miko pointed out that the impact of her predecessor’s tenure is visible across all the chapter’s programmes.
The new PTML COWA Chairperson pledged to be committed to building on the achievements and successes of her predecessor’s administration, while also breaking new grounds for the promotion of COWA objectives and the enhancement of the welfare of Customs officers’ wives.
In her words: “I am committed to consolidating the successes of the previous administration while introducing new initiatives that will further promote COWA’s objectives and enhance the welfare of Customs officers’ wives.”
She solicited for the cooperation, prayers, and support of every member of the COWA PTML Chapter, the Command Management, and all stakeholders, to join together and move the chapter to greater heights.
Speaking on behalf of the former Chairperson, Mrs. Anyi Akhigbe, the Vice Chairperson of the association conveyed Mrs. Anani’s gratitude to God and appreciation to the Command Management and members for their cooperation throughout her tenure.

As the new leadership of the Customs Officers’ Wives Association (COWA), PTML Chapter, assumed office Thursday, June 18, 2026, the Acting Customs Area Controller (CAC) PTML Area Command, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Deputy Comptroller (DC) Nura Ibrahim Miko, has assured the chapter of the Command’s commitment to supporting the new leadership, which is headed by his wife, Hajiya Nabila Nura Miko.
DC Miko gave the assurance during the handover ceremony at the PTML Command Headquarters, where Hajiya Miko formally assumed office as Chairperson, succeeding Mrs. Ifeoluwa Anani, the wife of the immediate past CAC, Comptroller Joe Anani, who has since assumed the position of Controller, NCS Tin-Can Island Port Area Command.
Describing the event as more than a leadership transition, DC Miko noted that it symbolized continuity, service, and the contributions of Customs officers’ spouses to the NCS family.
He commended Mrs. Anani for her exemplary leadership and impactful projects, saying her administration strengthened the association and positively impacted members and the wider Customs community.
Miko underscored COWA’s role in fostering stability at home, enabling officers to perform their duties in revenue generation, trade facilitation, and anti-smuggling operations.
He said: “While officers are engaged in official duties, COWA members ensure that our homes remain stable, peaceful, and productive. A stable home is the foundation of effective service delivery, and for this invaluable contribution, we remain profoundly grateful.”
