Kebbi Pilgrims Hail Gov. Idris for Care, Support and Welfare During 2026 Hajj

Following the successful completion of the 2026 Hajj exercise in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the unwavering support extended to pilgrims by the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, pilgrims from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state converged at the Presidential Banquet Hall, Birnin Kebbi, to express their profound appreciation to the Governor for the care, support and welfare provided throughout their spiritual journey.
The pilgrims, represented by the Executive Chairman of the Kebbi State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, Enabo, said they considered it necessary to personally appreciate the Governor for the numerous welfare packages and interventions that ensured a successful and hitch-free pilgrimage for all pilgrims from the state.
According to Alhaji Faruk Musa Yaro, the Governor’s commitment to the welfare of pilgrims was evident from the commencement of preparations for the Hajj exercise until their safe return home. He noted that pilgrims enjoyed unprecedented support, including the payment of Hadaya (sacrificial obligations), cash assistance and significantly improved feeding arrangements.
He informed the Governor that all Kebbi pilgrims successfully performed the Hajj rites and returned home safely in good health, attributing the achievement to the grace of Allah and the administration’s unwavering dedication to their welfare.
He added that the Amirul Hajj delegation and officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency diligently discharged the responsibilities entrusted to them throughout the exercise.
The Chairman further disclosed that throughout their stay in Madinah, Makkah, Mina, Arafat and Muzdalifah, pilgrims received adequate care and support, resulting in a comfortable and fulfilling pilgrimage experience. He remarked that the pilgrims remained healthy, disciplined and appreciative of the government’s interventions.
Alhaji Faruk stated that the pilgrims consistently offered prayers for the Governor, his family, the administration and the people of Kebbi State, describing the goodwill demonstrated by the pilgrims as unprecedented.
“I want to reiterate that, Your Excellency, our pilgrims prayed diligently for your success and for the well-being of your entire family,” Enabo stated.
He said the gathering at the Presidential Banquet Hall was initiated by the pilgrims themselves as a mark of appreciation for the Governor’s exemplary leadership and unwavering support.
As a token of gratitude, representatives of the pilgrims and Hajj guides presented various agricultural products to the Governor, including bags of sorghum, onions, pumpkins and a ram. They explained that the gifts symbolised the benefits they had derived from the administration’s agricultural empowerment programmes, which enabled many of them to engage in productive farming and earn sufficient income to perform the pilgrimage.
The pilgrims also commended the Governor for creating an enabling environment that enhanced agricultural productivity across the state through the provision of fertiliser, farming implements and other forms of support to farmers. They noted that many pilgrims financed their Hajj through proceeds from farming and livestock activities.
Speaking on logistics, Alhaji Faruk revealed that the agency successfully handled the transportation of pilgrims’ luggage, amounting to about 7,860 kilograms, without denying any pilgrim access to his or her cargo entitlement. He added that additional arrangements were made to ensure that all pilgrims received the services due to them.
Responding, Governor Nasir Idris expressed delight over the show of appreciation by the pilgrims and reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritise programmes and policies that promote the welfare of the people.
He emphasised that every support provided to pilgrims was aimed at ensuring their comfort during the sacred journey and encouraging the practice of religion in an atmosphere of dignity, peace and ease.
The Governor commended the Amirul Hajj, members of the Hajj delegation, officials of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency and all other stakeholders for ensuring a successful Hajj operation.
He assured the pilgrims that his administration would continue to improve welfare arrangements for future Hajj exercises and thanked them for their prayers and unwavering support for his government.
