Ex-Dange-Shuni LGA Chairman, Alhaji Abu E.O Shuni, Dies in Shuni

Dange-Shuni Local Government Area and Sokoto State are in mourning following the death of Alhaji Abu E.O. Shuni, former Chairman of Dange-Shuni LGA, who passed away on Wednesday June 10, 2026, in his hometown of Shuni.
Announcing his passing, family members recited: “Inna lillahi wa inna ilaihi raji’un – From Allah we come and to Him we shall return,” and cited Qur’an 29:57: “Every soul shall taste death, then to Us you will be returned.”
Funeral prayers for the late former chairman will be held at 10:00 a.m. in Shuni, God willing.
The death comes just a day after the passing of his elder sister, whose funeral was held on Tuesday.
He was last seen alive at about 10 p.m. on Tuesday at the entrance of his residence.
Residents of Shuni have expressed deep grief, describing the late Alhaji Shuni as a father figure and a committed public servant.
Prayers are being offered for Allah’s mercy on him, for forgiveness of his sins, for strength to answer the questions of the grave, and for Aljannatul Firdaus to be his eternal home.
May Allah grant his family, the people of Dange-Shuni, and Sokoto State the fortitude to bear this loss.
