By Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto
Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has felicitated Muslims in the state, across Nigeria, and around the world on the occasion of Eid-el-Adha, urging the faithful to uphold the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, peace, unity, and compassion as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The Governor described Eid-el-Adha, celebrated during the holy Hajj period, as a sacred festival commemorating the unwavering faith, sacrifice, and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to the command of Almighty Allah.
He noted that the season serves as a reminder of the importance of total submission to God, love for one another, and commitment to peaceful coexistence.
Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, called on the people of Kebbi State to continue living in peace and harmony irrespective of their differences, stressing that unity and brotherliness remain the foundation for sustainable growth and development.
He urged citizens to embrace the spirit of sharing by supporting the less privileged, extending helping hands to the needy, and strengthening the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding within their communities.
The Governor further emphasized the need for fervent prayers for the peace, stability, and prosperity of Kebbi State and Nigeria as a whole. He appealed to the people to continue praying for leaders at all levels for wisdom, strength, and guidance in steering the affairs of the nation toward greater progress and development.
Governor Idris also reflected on the noble virtues of Eid-el-Adha as demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad (SAW), particularly kindness, humility, tolerance, and devotion to the welfare of humanity. He encouraged Muslims to imbibe these virtues in their daily lives for the advancement of society.
As Muslims celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Adha, the Governor wished the people joyful celebrations filled with happiness, love, and renewed hope. He also prayed for the safe return of Kebbi State pilgrims and all Nigerian pilgrims performing the Hajj in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The Governor reassured the people that his administration would continue to sustain its developmental strides across Kebbi State in all sectors, including education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, youth and women empowerment, as well as human capacity building, with the aim of improving the living standards of the people.
