Gagi District Head Lauds Gov. Aliyu For Upgrading PHC To General Hospital At N600m

The District Head of Gagi in Sokoto South Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Sarkin Yakin Gagi, Alhaji Sani Umar Jabbi, has lauded Gov. Ahmed Aliyu for upgrading the Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Gagi to a General Hospital at the cost of N600 million.
Alhaji Jabbi described the gesture as a monumental achievement that will vastly improve healthcare delivery in Gagi and its environs.
He said the upgrading of the facility was timely and apt, noting that Gagi, being one of the most populous communities in Sokoto South and a gateway to Sokoto metropolis, deserves a standard general hospital.
“The dearth of a befitting secondary health facility has for long hampered access to quality healthcare services by our people.
” Our people had to travel to Sokoto metropolis for an advanced medical attention.
“Gov. Ahmed Aliyu has demonstrated uncommon commitment to the health and well-being of the people by approving N600 million for this all-important project.
” This is highly commendable,” the District Head said.
Alhaji Sani Umar Jabbi further commended the Governor for according top priority to the health sector under his robust and plausible 9-Point Smart Agenda, saying the initiative has transformed the health sector and improved the lives of the people of the state.
Alhaji Jabbi noted that upon completion, the General Hospital will provide 24-hour services, have adequate manpower, equipment and drugs, reduce maternal and infant mortality, and cater for the health needs of hundreds of communities in Gagi District and beyond.
He assured the state government of the total support and cooperation of the people of Gagi District to ensure the successful execution of the project and pledged to safeguard the facility against vandalism.
The District Head also commended Gov. Aliyu for his people-oriented projects across the state and prayed for his continued success in steering the affairs of Sokoto State.
