The General Manager of ALU TV International Nigeria, Bashar Abubakar, has said the station belongs to all Nigerians and is committed to projecting the country’s unity, culture and development through diverse programming.
Abubakar stated this on Tuesday in Sokoto during a courtesy visit by the management of FATSAM Advertising and Media Limited to the station.
“ALU TV is already covering events all over Nigeria, especially in the North-West and North-East regions. We are working to expand our frontiers beyond Sokoto, Northern Nigeria, and to other parts of Africa,” he said.
The GM added that the station is working relentlessly to change negative narratives about Nigeria.
“This country belongs to all of us and we must work towards its survival, peace, unity, stability and socio-economic prosperity. If we as Nigerians don’t do this, nobody will do it for us,” he stated.
He said the vision aligns with that of the founder of the station, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, former Governor of Sokoto State and current Senator representing Sokoto North Senatorial District.
“This is the vision of the patriotic founder of this great station, the pioneer TV station to begin transmission on satellite. We are tirelessly working to realize that vision,” Abubakar added.
He also announced plans to launch a new multilingual television programme in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo aimed at promoting businesses and brands while fostering national unity and peaceful coexistence.
In his remarks, FATSAM Managing Director, Abdulfatai Abdusalam, said the proposed partnership with ALU TV would help businesses and organizations promote their brands, products, services and programmes to wider audiences through the station’s broadcast platforms.
“Effective advertising is key to building brand awareness, expanding market reach and connecting organizations with their target audiences,” Abdusalam stressed.
He further explained that the programmes to be produced and sponsored for broadcast on the station would be non-political and non-religious.
“They are aimed at boosting unity, stability and economic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria in general,” he said.
The visit featured presentations in Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo by Bashir Rabe Mani, Mustapha Olatunde and Sandra Ogechi Nwabueze, demonstrating the potential of multilingual broadcasting to connect advertisers with diverse audiences.
Both parties said the collaboration is expected to expand advertising opportunities, strengthen engagement with the business community, and contribute to the socioeconomic development of Sokoto State and Nigeria.
