Sabon Birni District Head commissions GSSS Yabo renovated with hundreds of million of Naira by Aliyu

In a bold move to pay back to his Alma mater, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has renovated, expanded and upgraded the Government Science Secondary School, Yabo, (GSSS) at the cost of hundreds of millions of Naira.

that it was also a happy reunion on Thursday when his former Principal and incumbent, District Head of Sabon Birni, (Sarkin Gobir of Sabon Birni), Alhaji Alhaji Abdullahi Dan Galadima commissioned the renovated educational edifice.

Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto’s studentship days.
He said, “I am deeply happy that one of my former students has grown, became responsible and he has turned his back to pay back to his Alma mater.
“I am also appreciative that it was during your administration that I was appointed as a District Head.
“True leadership is reflected in massive investments in education as this is an investment for the future of our children.
“This invaluable gesture will greatly inspire the students to aspire to become good leaders.”
The District Head also urged the students to continue to uphold the good name of the school.”
Also speaking, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto said that he was elated, humbled and extremely delighted to be part of the historic event.
The Governor recalled that when he was admitted in the school, it had the best infrastructure, extracurricular and other lively activities.
He sadly recalled, ” However, the infrastructure were allowed to decay hitherto and that was motivated me to undertake this noble project.
“The school ha also been fully equipped to provide quality education. This is what we have done across the state and we are still doing.
“This event has also given us the chance to reunite and rekindle friendships as well as celebrate enduring bonds.
“Knowledge especially Science and Technology remain the prime mover in t development and modernization.”
Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto added that his administration’s 9-Point Smart Agenda prioritizes education, saying that it has been allocating more than the 25 per cent UNESCO recommendation for the education sector.
He urged the people of the state to enrol their children in both Islamic and Western schools, disclosing that he has ramped up the students’ feeding allowance by over 300 per cent.
Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto also applauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his meaningful returns and programmes driving development across Nigeria.
While underscoring the imperatives of the Renewed Hope Agenda, the Sokoto State Governor said, “we remain committed to his victory in the 2027 general elections.e
