
Tangaza LGA Chairman resigns from APC, position

The Executive Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, Hon. Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, has resigned from the All Progressives Congress (APC) as well as his position.
Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that this was contained in a resignation letter dated 5th May, 2026, issued to newsmen on Tuesday in Sokoto.
The letter was addressed to the APC Ward Chairman, Kalanjeni Ward
Tangaza Local Government Area
Sokoto State.
It said, “I wish to formally inform you of my decision to resign from the APC with
immediate effect.
“This decision is borne out of purely personal reasons.
I appreciate the opportunity given to me to be part of the party.”
In another letter dated 7th July, 2026, Hon. Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, has announced his resignation from his position as the elected Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area.
The letter was addressed to the Secretary to the State Government,
the Commissioner, Ministry of
Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sokoto State.
Our Correspondent in Sokoto further reports that the letter was titled, ‘LETTER OF RESIGNATION AS EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN OF TANGAZA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA’.
It read,” “Please accept this letter as formal notification that I am resigning from my position as executive chairman, of Tangaza Local Government
effectively immediately from today.
“This Difficult decision has been reached after extensive consultations
with my family, key political associates, and community stakeholders.
“Due to recent unavoidable administrative challenges, I find that I am no
longer able to executive the responsibilities of this office to the high
standard expected of me.
“I am incredibly grateful to the electorate, the Council’s legislative arm,
and the entire staff for the privilege and opportunities to serve our
people. I wish the incoming leadership and administration continued success.”
