Sokoto ADC adopts Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate

As the African Democratic Congress (ADC), holds its presidential primaries on Monday, the Sokoto State chapter of he party has adopted Nigeria’s former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as its sole candidate.

Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that this was announced by the former Chief of Staff to the former Governor of the state, Sen.Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, at a news briefing in Sokoto on  Sunday.

He said, ” This press conference was convened to convey the consensus agreement reached by the people of Sokoto State and the ADC to adopt His Excellency,, the former Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa

“This is sequel to the build up for the forthcoming presidential primaries of the party as well as the 2027 general elections.”

Our Correspondent also reports that the press briefing was attended by several chieftains of ADC in the state including the former Information Commission, Alhaji Dahiru Maishanu, former Head of Service, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad and the State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Abdullahi Maigwandu, among others.
