Sultanate Council Appoints veteran journalist, Jabbi Ibrahim as Chief Imam of Zawiyyah Jumuat Mosque, Illelar Dabore
The Sultanate Council has approved the appointment of Mohammed Jabbi Ibrahim as the new Chief Imam of Zawiyyah Jumuat Mosque, Illelar Dabore, Shagari Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Mohammed Jabbi Ibrahim, a veteran journalist and incumbent Director of Waqf at the Sokoto State Zakat and Endowment Agency, said his appointment takes effect from 5th May 2026.
The official inauguration ceremony is scheduled for Friday, 15th May 2026, at Zawiyyah Jumuat Mosque in Illelar Dabore Town.
The event will run from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, In Sha Allah.
In a message to colleagues in the Islamic clergy, Ibrahim requested prayers for a successful ceremony and for strength to carry out the religious duty.
He called on clerics and members of the Muslim community to support him as he assumes the role.
Zawiyyah Jumuat Mosque serves as a central place of worship for residents of Illelar Dabore and surrounding areas.
