UMARU AJIYA COMMISSIONS RENOVATED AMANAWA JUMU’AT MOSQUE AS GOV. ALIYU  RECOMMITS TO DEV’T

Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu, has said the remarkable progress recorded by his administration and the positive impact of government policies on the lives of the people have encouraged him to seek a second term in office.

The governor made the statement during the commissioning of the newly renovated and remodelled Amanawa Jumu’at Mosque in Dange/Shuni Local Government Area. The mosque was officially commissioned by the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Sokoto East Senatorial District, Alhaji Umaru Ajiya.

Dr. Aliyu said his administration remained committed to fulfilling its campaign promises through the execution of people-oriented projects across various sectors of the economy.

He reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting religious institutions and promoting moral values in society, noting that government interventions would continue to focus on projects that directly improve the spiritual and social wellbeing of the people.

The governor explained that mosques remain centres of unity, guidance, and community development. He stressed that his administration considers the renovation and construction of worship centres as part of its core responsibilities to the people of the state.

He called on Islamic scholars and worshippers to continue praying for peace, unity, and sustainable development in Sokoto State and the country at large, and urged citizens to continue supporting government policies and programmes aimed at improving their welfare.

The Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihulla, said the state government had, in the last two years, embarked on massive renovation, reconstruction, and commissioning of Jumu’at mosques across the state.

According to him, it is now rare for a Friday to pass without the opening or commissioning of a newly renovated or reconstructed Jumu’at mosque in Sokoto State, owing to the government’s sustained commitment to promoting Islamic activities and improving places of worship.

Representing the Sultan of Sokoto, His Eminence Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, the Wazirin Sokoto, Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, commended the state government for its continued support to religious institutions and Islamic propagation.

Prof. Junaidu described the renovation and remodelling of the Amanawa Jumu’at Mosque as a significant achievement that would further strengthen religious activities and promote unity within the community.

He urged the people to continue supporting the present administration and to pray for lasting peace and progress in the state and the nation.

The Chairman of Dange/Shuni Local Government Area, Alhaji Aminu Magaji Bodai, expressed appreciation to Governor Aliyu for approving the renovation and remodelling of the mosque for the benefit of the people.

He said the project reflects the governor’s commitment to improving the spiritual wellbeing of the people and developing rural communities across the state. He assured the governor of the continued support and loyalty of the people of Dange/Shuni to the present administration.

Speaking shortly after commissioning the mosque, Alhaji Umaru Ajiya commended the administration for giving priority attention to Islamic affairs and religious infrastructure across the state.

He described the renovation as a commendable initiative that reflects the government’s commitment to strengthening religious values and improving the welfare of the Muslim community. Ajiya noted that the project would provide a more conducive environment for worshippers and promote unity among the people.

He thanked the governor for the opportunity to commission the mosque, describing it as an honour and a reflection of the administration’s inclusiveness and respect. Ajiya pledged continued support for the administration and urged the people to sustain their backing for government programmes and policies.

The ceremony was attended by state deputy governor, Idris Muhd Gobir,Speaker SOHA,Member representing Wamakko and kware federal constituency,Ahmed kalambaina,Member representing Bodinga,Dange/shuni and Tureta,Alhaji Nasiru Shehu Bobo,Minister of State works,Bello Muhammad Goronyo,religious leaders, Ulamas, community members, party supporters, and other dignitaries from within and outside the area.
