NDC only option to salvage Nigeria, says Peter Obi

The Presidential Candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress ( NDC), Mr Peter Obi, says the party remains the only option to salvage Nigeria.

Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that Obi, flanked by the party’s Vice Presidential Candidate, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, spoke on Monday in Sokoto at the Obi/Kwankwaso Presidential Town Hall Meeting.

According to Obi, the incumbent APC government has failed Nigeians, hence the citizens must leverage the forthcoming 2027 general elections to vote him and Kwankwaso as well as other candidates of the ADC at all levels to take “Nigeria out of the doldrums”.

Obi further said that it is the collective responsibility of all Nigerians to vote in NDC with a view to solving all the recurring problems facing all parts of Nigeria.

The former Anambra State Governor further noted that an OBi/Kwankwaso ticket is unwaveringly committed to ensurijg a “politics of care and service to Nigerians.

While lamenting that Nigeians are poorer now, Obi vowed to use the resources of the country to improve security, education and all sectors of the economy.

He further promised to reinstate petroleum subsidy, adding however, ” we will do this only after curbing corruption.

” We will also make sure that Railways connect all state capitals of the country to bolster the economy.”

Also speaking, Kwankwaso said that the visit was to meet with the people of Sokoto and further seek their support and cooperation to succeed during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.

The former Kano State Governor also acknowledged that on a visit to the Sultan earlier, he had prayed for them and extended his tremendous goodwill for their Obi/ Kwankwaso ticket.

According to Kwankwaso, although all parts of Nigeria are now facing one problem or the other, the North-West was now the epicentre of banditry and kidnapping, among other recurring challenges.

“We are therefore committed to mitigating all these challenges and make Nigeria better,” he averred..

Speaking earlier, the Sokoto State Governoship candidate of the party, Dr Shamsudeen Haido, pledged to ensure good governance, if elected during the forthcoming polls.
