Hajj exercise: Sokoto PWA Chairman parleys with 2026 Hajj Media, Publicity Committee

The Chairman of Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa, held a preparatory meeting with members of the Sokoto State Hajj 2026 Media and Publicity Committee.
During the meeting, the Chairman outlined the terms of reference for the committee, emphasizing its critical role in organizing and managing the flow of information before, during, and after the Hajj pilgrimage. He noted that the committee’s responsibilities center on effective communication, public awareness, and media relations.
He highlighted key functions of the committee, including:
– Educating intending pilgrims on Hajj procedures, requirements, health guidelines, travel schedules, and relevant regulations.
– Providing timely updates on important developments such as flight schedules, accommodation arrangements, safety advisories, and policy changes.
– Coordinating with media organizations to ensure accurate and responsible coverage of Hajj activities.
– Promoting a positive image of Hajj operations by addressing misinformation and showcasing achievements.
– Managing communication during emergencies to reduce panic and ensure clarity.
– Documenting activities through reports, photos, and videos for future planning and public engagement.
– Engaging with all stakeholders, including pilgrims, government agencies, and international bodies, to ensure smooth communication.
In response, the Chairman of the Committee, Mallam Muhammad Umar, assured the members’ commitment and readiness to effectively discharge their responsibilities.
The five-member committee has Muhammad Umar as Chairman and Faruku Umar as Secretary.
