Celebrating Three Years of Distinguished Service: A Tribute to Abubakar Bawa

As someone privileged to work closely with Abubakar Bawa, I can say without hesitation that the past three years have demonstrated what true dedication, professionalism, and loyalty in public service truly look like.
Over this period, Abubakar has distinguished himself as a committed and highly professional media aide, playing a central role in projecting the achievements, policies, and programmes of the administration of His Excellency, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, FCNA, Governor of Sokoto State.
He began as the first appointee of the administration, serving as Press Secretary to the Executive Governor.
In that capacity, I witnessed firsthand his exceptional dedication, competence, and calm, measured approach to government communication.
His performance, combined with unwavering loyalty and a strong sense of responsibility, earned him a well-deserved elevation to the position of Director General, Media and Publicity to the Governor.
Throughout this period, he has consistently prioritized the effective dissemination of government policies and developmental strides, ensuring that information reaches the people of Sokoto State and beyond in a timely, accurate, and clear manner.
Working alongside him, I have observed his ability to strengthen the bridge between government and the public through effective media coordination, open engagement with journalists, and a respectful and accessible disposition.
His humility, professionalism, and team spirit have earned him respect not only within the Government House but also among media practitioners across the state and beyond.
His ability to balance firmness with diplomacy, while maintaining cordial working relationships, is one of the qualities that sets him apart.
It is also important to note his consistency in crisis communication and information management during sensitive and high-pressure moments in governance. At such times, he has demonstrated remarkable composure, ensuring that public information is handled responsibly, misinformation is minimized, and the image of government is protected with professionalism and integrity.
As we mark the third anniversary of his appointment, colleagues, friends, and associates celebrate a dependable and exemplary public servant whose journey reflects integrity, perseverance, and selfless service to Sokoto State.
As he continues this journey of service, it is our collective prayer and expectation that he will build even further on this solid foundation, inspire younger professionals in the field of media and public communication, and continue to serve as a model of excellence in public service.
His legacy in this administration is already taking shape, and it is one defined by impact, loyalty, and a clear commitment to the progress of Sokoto State. May his years ahead be even more productive, impactful, and rewarding in service to humanity and good governance.
I encourage him to continue strengthening these relationships and to sustain the spirit of teamwork and mutual respect that has defined his tenure so far. His contributions to the successes of this administration are evident, and his commitment to duty remains unwavering.
