LG Chairman Lauds Tinubu Over Appointment of Prof. Shuni as ES, National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education

The Chairman of *Dange/Shuni Local Government Area* of Sokoto State, *Alhaji Aminu Magaji Bodai*, has commended *President Bola Ahmed Tinubu* for appointing an indigene of the area, *Prof. Dahiru Muhammad Shuni*, as the new Executive Secretary of the *National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education*.
Bodai, a former Member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly, made the commendation on *Thursday in Sokoto* while reacting to the appointment of the renowned educationist.
According to him, the people of Dange/Shuni and Sokoto State are elated that President Tinubu has, by the appointment, reposed tremendous confidence in Prof. Shuni.
“We are confident that the new appointee will justify the confidence reposed in him and by extension, Sokoto State, by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Bodai said.
He expressed optimism that Prof. Shuni would work tirelessly to bolster educational development in the state and Nigeria at large, particularly in the area of mass literacy.
The LG Chairman also applauded the *APC leader in Sokoto State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko* and *Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto* for their roles in facilitating the appointment.
“We remain eternally grateful to the duo for their sustained support and fearless concern shown to the people of Dange/Shuni Local Government Area,” he added.
*Commends Free Fertilizer Distribution*
Meanwhile, Hon. Bodai has commended Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto for providing *3,600 bags of assorted fertilizers and other farm inputs* to Dange/Shuni LGA.
He said the commodities were distributed free to genuine farmers across the *11 political wards and 194 polling units* in the area.
The Chairman praised the *State Government’s Fertilizer Distribution Committee* deployed to the area, led by *Alhaji Nura Attajiri*, Director-General of the Sokoto State Hisbah Board, for discharging the assignment transparently.
Bodai disclosed that the LGA also set up committees to ensure even distribution across all wards. He directed members to “discharge their duties with the absolute fear of God so that only genuine farmers benefited.”
He further directed security agencies to arrest and prosecute any official found selling the inputs or violating distribution procedures.
“So far, so good, we haven’t heard any complaints and we are fully satisfied with the progress so far,” the Chairman declared.
