Sokoto Gov’t provides 200 vehicles to security agencies to bolster protection of lives, property — Commissioner

The Sokoto State Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare, said that the state has provided more than 200 vehicles for the security agencies in the last three years.
This,, he said, was sequel to the determined bid of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to bolster the protection of lives and properties of the people across the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.
Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that the Commissioner addressed newsmen on Friday in Sokoto when he commented on the three years anniversary of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare further said that the people-oriented administration had also provided all then logistics supports that they required to succeed in the ongoing fight against banditry and other crimes.
According to him, the state government had also successfully established the Community Guards Corps in the state.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare further said the state government had provided office accommodation, motor vehicles, motorcycles, working materials and operational costs.
According to him, the aim was to ensure that all that was needed to provide security across the state is routinely and adequately provided.

On the epochal anniversary, the Commissioner said, “Today being the 29th May 2026, I’m happy to be here in my office in the Ministry for Local
Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Sokoto State, after a two-day break from Salah celebration.
“We thank Almighty Allah for making it possible for us to witness this day and we pray for many more years of happiness and success.
“It is expected that today civil servants and public servants are to resume back to work and that’s why we are here in the office today, Friday 29th May 2026.

The third year in office of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Sokoto State, Dr.;Ahmed Aliou, who, when he came to office, promised the people of Sokoto State that he will be able to do his best to ensure that he provides for the people of the state.
“And in making such commitment, he was able to come up with. His nine-point smart agenda, which he is following smartly.
“We know what we witness, including the journalists in the state, the tremendous efforts and achievement made by this government.”
In the area of education, Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare maintained Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has been doing a lot in the areas of rehabilitation and reconstruction of schools.
He continued, ” And of course, the government has been doing a lot of work.
We have seen in the area of education what His Excellency has been doing through rehabilitation
and reconstruction of schools.
“And of course, the government has been doing a lot of work.

*He has been building schools for the first time, providing cash allocation to principals of schools so that minor repairs could be effective.

and remodeling of Mosques, Islamiyah schools and providing support to Imams, Muazzams, among others.”
According to him, the Governor has also been doing well in the area of the efforts he has been making in supporting
vulnerable groups including the orphans the less-privileged.
He added, ” W’re also seeing
what he has been doing in providing and supporting the youths and women.
“This is through skills empowerment programs in areas of tailoring in the areas of knitting, welding, vulcanizing soap making, home making and several other aspects.
“This is with the intention of empowering them so that they can be self reliant and of course in doing that it will provide the avenue for them to have some economic gains in multiples.
“This will in turn will ensure the sustainability of economic.development
activities in our dear state.”
Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare further reeled out other executed projects to include the establishment of new water plants to alleviate the perennial water scarcity in parts of the stqte.
In the same vein, the Commissioner explained that the administration has been prioritizing the beautification of Sokoto’s city and the rehabilitation of roads, providing solar streets
lightnings.
He said, “And of course, we’re also seeing under agriculture what he has been doing through provision of fertilizers, chemicals, improved seeds, all to farmers free of charge.
“This is to ensure the sustainability of food production in the
state.
” So, several areas have been touched through rehabilitation and construction
of roads, rural roads across the communities in the state, providing
supports to students in terms of scholarship both within the state
capital and outside the state, I mean in abroad.
” Several other achievement has
been recorded during this three-year period.
“We thank Almighty Allah for this
and we pray that many more of these successes will come.”
According to the Commissioner, the state government is doing its best in providing for its people as promised.
Alhaji Ibrahim Dadi Adare continued, “
“we hope that our people in the state will continue to collaborate.and cooperate with the state government
“We also hope that they will continue to pray and be hopeful to the state government because the government is for the people and by the people and of the people.
“And of course, it has people at heart
and is making everything possible to ensure that it is provided for our people.
We are here because of our people.
*We need our people.
We want to provide for them.
We want to support them.
“We want to ensure that our people are comfortable as much as possible.
“And therefore, this government is always willing to do that and is hopeful that come next year, in many ways to come, we will continue to provide for our people.”
