Dan Sokoto Visits Emir of Ilorin, Seeks Royal Blessings Ahead of 2027 Polls

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Kwara State House of Assembly, Afon Constituency, Hon. Salman Ridwan Dan Sokoto, has paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Ilorin, Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, to seek royal blessings ahead of the 2027 general elections.
During the visit, Hon. Salman said the engagement was aimed at showing respect for the traditional institution and acknowledging the role of traditional rulers in promoting peace, unity, and cultural heritage in Kwara State.
He noted that receiving the Emir’s blessings and counsel reaffirmed his commitment to politics founded on humility, respect for tradition, and service to the people.
The PDP candidate also expressed support for the message of unity and issue-based politics being championed by former Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, and the party’s candidate, Engr. Suleiman Bolakale Kawu.
According to him, the PDP in Kwara State remains united and committed to engaging stakeholders at all levels to ensure that its campaign reflects the aspirations of the people.
Hon. Salman thanked the Emir for the warm reception and fatherly prayers extended to him during the visit.
He further assured traditional rulers across the state that a PDP-led government would work closely with the emirate councils to promote development, improve security, and enhance social welfare in communities across Kwara State.
“We remain focused, united, and ready to serve,” he stated.
