SHETTIMA LAUDS GOV. IDRIS’ TRANSFORMATIVE LEADERSHIP,  DEV’T’AL STRIDES IN KEBBI

The Vice President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, has showered glowing tributes on the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his exceptional leadership and far-reaching developmental strides across the state.

Speaking during a condolence visit to the Governor at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, following the passing of the Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru, the Vice President described Governor Idris as a visionary and people-centered leader whose impact is being felt across all sectors of the state.

Senator Shettima particularly commended the Governor’s significant investments in infrastructure, the revitalisation of the education sector, and his inclusive approach to governance. He noted that these efforts have strengthened unity, peace, and a strong sense of belonging among the people of Kebbi State.

He observed that within a short period of two years in office, Governor Idris has demonstrated uncommon remarkable commitment to the welfare of the people, translating campaign promises into measurable achievements that have significantly improved livelihoods and accelerated development across the state.

The Vice President further eulogised Governor Idris’ leadership style, as purposeful, compassionate, and result-driven, adding that Kebbi State has witnessed notable progress under his stewardship.

Senator Shettima also expressed his deep personal connection to the state, describing Kebbi as his “second home,” and reaffirmed his admiration for the resilience, unity, and hospitality of its people.

While extending his condolences over the demise of the late Speaker, Rt. Hon. Muhammad Usman Zuru (Lifiddan Zuru), who passed away on Monday, 6th April, 2026, in Cairo, Egypt, after a prolonged illness, the Vice President prayed for the repose of his soul and strength for the government and people of Kebbi State to bear the irreparable loss during this difficult time.
