Tijjaniya World Leader Visits Wamakko to Bolster Algeria-Nigeria Relationship, Economic Ties

Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has received the Leader of the Tijjaniyya Order Worldwide, Sharif Sidi Ali Bil Arabi, at his Asokoro residence in Abuja.
The courtesy visit was part of activities marking the Maulud of Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani and National Prayers for Nigeria.
Sharif Sidi Ali said the visit was aimed at strengthening the religious and economic relationship between Algeria and Nigeria.
He was accompanied by the Algerian Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Hussein Mazawad, and other dignitaries.
Sen. Wamakko, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District, welcomed the Tijjaniyya leader and described the visit as timely and significant to deepening bilateral ties between the two countries.
The former Sokoto State Governor noted that Nigeria and Algeria share long-standing religious, cultural and economic relations that must be sustained for the benefit of their people.
The Tijjaniyya leader is in Nigeria to attend the Maulud celebration of Sheikh Ahmed Tijjani and to offer special prayers for peace, unity and progress of the country.
