
Sokoto Governor commissions ultramodern Jumaat Mosque built by Sen. Wamakko

Sokoto State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto on Friday commissioned an ultramodern Jumaat Mosque by Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, representing Sokoto North Senatorial District.
Our Correspondent reports that the Mosque, constructed along Bodinga Road, Sokoto, was named, “Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko Jumaat Mosque ‘
Speaking during the epochal event, Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto promised that his administration would continue to accord top priority to the growth and development of Islam.
According to him, this is in line with his 9-Point Smart Agenda,vowing, “therefore, we will leave no stone unturned in this direction.”
The Governor also urged affluent indigenes of the state to complement the ongoing efforts of his administration in all aspects.
Dr Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto further extolled the myriad of efforts of Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko in the construction of Mosques, Schools, cemeteries, assistance to orphans and other vulnerable citizens.
He urged that the Mosque should be properly maintained, promising that his administration will continue to assist all Imams and clerics across the state.
Also speaking, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko said that he remains grateful to the Almighty Allah and the people of the state for their sustained support and fervent prayers to him for decades.
Sen. Wamakko also acknowledged their unending love and goodwill to him, extolling the tremendous empathy of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto to the people of the state.
He added that he was happy that the Governor has been roundly committed in the areas of the construction of Mosques,, welfare of orphans and general empowerment of youths and other vulnerable people of the state.
Sen. Wamakko added, “he has also done a lot in terms of health, education, water supply and the moral rejuvenation across the state.”
According to the Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu has also strove to provide free fertilizer to thousands of farmers to ramp up food security in the state.
Sen. Wamakko further acknowledged that the Governor has been according top priority to the development of Western and Islamic education, while a myriad of infrastructure had been provided across the state
Also speaking, the Commissioner of Religious Affairs, Prof. Jabir Sani Maihula and the Chairman, Sokoto South Local Government Area, Alhaji Ya’u Muhammad Danda, extolled the efforts of both the Governor and Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, in ensuring the development of both Islamic and western education, among several other giant strides recorded.
