Eid-el-Kabir: Sokoto CP Shaffa Felicitates Muslim Ummah, Issues Security Advisory

The Commissioner of Police, Sokoto State Command, Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, on behalf of the officers and men of the Command, warmly congratulates the good people of the Caliphate on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
This was contained in a statement signed by the spokesperson of the Command, DSP Ahmad Rufa’i, issued in Sokoto Monday.
It sosd, “Following a tactical meeting with Area Commanders, DPOs and Tactical teams, the Commissioner has issued this statement to outline comprehensive security measures for the peaceful conduct of the festivities, and to call on all citizens to strictly adhere to stipulated rules at any event during the celebration.
“In the days leading up to Eid, the Command has intensified patrols and intelligence-led surveillance around prayer grounds, markets, motor parks, and critical infrastructure. “
According to the statement, the citizens are advised to report any suspicious objects or unfamiliar persons loitering near prayer sites or crowded areas.
They have also been asked to avoid unapproved processions or last-minute gatherings without clearance from security agencies.
The statement also urged them to secure their homes and businesses, and educate family members, especially children, on basic safety protocols.
The statement continued, “On the morning of Eid, all worshippers and attendees must cooperate fully with security personnel at entry points to praying grounds. The following rules are mandatory:
“No unauthorized vehicles will be allowed within designated prayer ground perimeters.
” No firearms, sharp objects, or intoxicants are permitted at any event venue.
“Orderly conduct must be maintained during and after prayers; pushing, running, or any form of hooliganism will not be tolerated.
“Parents and guardians must keep children under strict supervision to prevent separation or accidents.”
The statement further appealed to the traditional rulers and Imams to remind congregants that the spirit of Eid demands compassion, restraint, and respect for law and order.
The statement added, “Security monitoring will continue throughout the three days of celebration and beyond. The Commissioner urges all residents to:
“Refrain from reckless driving or the use of illegal fireworks that may cause panic or injury most especially road linking to Arkilla behind Polytechnic and Bafarawa Estates.
“Avoid celebratory gunfire a dangerous criminal act that endangers innocent lives.
“Dispose of animal hides and remains only at designated abattoirs or collection points.
“Remain vigilant and report any post-celebration disturbances to the nearest police station or security post.”
The statement quoted the Commissioner as appealikg to everyone’s civic and religious duty, adding, ““safety is a collective responsibility.
£Adhering strictly to these stipulated rules is not an infringement on your joy but a safeguard for our shared peace,” he stated. Let us demonstrate that the Caliphate remains a model of discipline, unity, and reverence for life.
