Sokoto Gov’t constitutes Caretaker Committee for ANCOPSS

The Sokoto State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has constituted a Caretaker Committee to oversee the affairs of the Association of Nigerian Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS), in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Thursday by the Ministry’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Iya.
According to the statement, the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Prof. Ahmad Ladan Ala, approved the constitution of the interim leadership on Thursday, 10th Sept. 2026.
The decision, the statement said, is part of the Ministry’s efforts to reposition the association, strengthen its administration, and ensure the effective coordination of its activities across the state.
The interim leadership will oversee the affairs of ANCOPSS pending the conduct of elections and the emergence of a new Executive Council.
The appointed officers are: Bello Abubakar, Principal, Sultan Bello Secondary School, Sokoto as acting Chairman and Musa Suleiman Mabera, Principal, Sani Dingyadi Unity Secondary School, Farfaru as acting Secretary.
The statement added that the interim leadership is mandated to manage the day-to-day affairs of ANCOPSS and ensure the continued smooth running of the association until a new Executive Council is duly elected.
The Ministry therefore called on all members of ANCOPSS and other relevant stakeholders to extend their full cooperation and support to the interim leadership in the discharge of its responsibilities.
“The Ministry remains committed to promoting effective leadership, professionalism, and improved coordination within the education sector in Sokoto State,” the statement added.
