Pay back: Wamakko renovates 2 alma maters in constituency

Sen. representing Sokoto North Senatorial District, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has commenced the total renovation of two historic schools within his Senatorial zone as part of efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
A statement by his spokesperson, Bashar Abubakar, said on Thursday in Sokoto that the benefiting institutions are: Sokoto Science College, popularly known as Sokoto Teachers’ College, and Magajin Gari Model Primary School in the Assada area of Sokoto.
The two institutions have played significant roles in the educational development of Sokoto State, producing generations of prominent Nigerians, including Senator Wamakko himself.
Speaking during an inspection of the project sites, the Permanent Secretary and Overseer of the Senatorial Zone Administration Office, Alhaji Almustapha Abubakar Alkali, described the intervention as an important investment in human capital development within the Sokoto North Senatorial Zone.
He said the initiative would complement the Sokoto State Government’s efforts towards improving the education sector while helping to restore and preserve the legacy of the historic institutions.
Representatives of the contracting companies, Benex Projects Limited and Elizaxbleet Nigeria Limited, confirmed that the project sites had been officially handed over to them and assured that the renovation works would be executed in accordance with the required specifications and standards.
Engineer Zayyanu Mustapha Alkanchi of the Ministry of Education also emphasised the need for quality and durable work to ensure that the renovated facilities serve present and future generations.
The heads of the two schools and the ward Head of Assada expressed appreciation to Senator Wamakko, describing the intervention as a significant contribution to educational development within Sokoto North Senatorial Zone and Sokoto State at large.
