By Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Sokoto State Council, is deeply heartbroken and devastated by the passing of our dear colleague, Mohammed Ibrahim Goronyo of Aljazeera Newspaper, after a protracted illness.

His death has left a profound void that words can hardly express. We have lost not just a colleague, but a committed professional, a dependable ally, and a humble soul whose passion for journalism and service to society stood as an inspiration to many. His dedication, integrity, and unwavering commitment to truth and fairness will forever remain etched in our hearts.

At this moment of grief, the entire NUJ family in Sokoto mourns collectively, sharing in the pain of this great loss. The press center will no longer be the same without his presence, his voice, and his contributions.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, friends, colleagues, and the management of Aljazeera Newspaper. We pray that Almighty Allah grants them the strength to endure this painful loss.

We also pray that Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, forgives his shortcomings, expands his grave, and grants him Aljannatul Firdaus.

He was aged 64 years and is survived by one wife and five children. He has since been buried in accordance with Islamic rites. Though he is gone from our sight, his legacy will continue to live on in the profession he served so passionately.

May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Ameen.
