MD Sokoto Media Corporation Unveils Multimillion Naira Empowerment Scheme For 300 Indigents

The Managing Director of the Sokoto State Media Corporation (SSMC), Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye, Sardaunan Dundaye, has unveiled a multimillion naira empowerment scheme for 300 indigent persons across three Districts of Wamakko Local Government Area of the State.
The epochal event was held on Sunday at Dundaye town, headquarters of Dundaye District in Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
The programme featured the distribution of an undisclosed amount of cash to the beneficiaries to alleviate their suffering and make them self-reliant.
Speaking at the ceremony, Alhaji Labaran Lumo Dundaye, who is also a large-scale farmer, said the initiative was aimed at reducing poverty, promoting self-reliance and complementing the efforts of the Sokoto State Government under Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
He said the beneficiaries were carefully selected based on need and vulnerability, adding that the gesture would enable them to become productive and economically independent.
“The essence of this scheme is to give back to society and empower our people to be self-sufficient.
” We believe that empowering 300 people today means empowering 300 families,” the Sardaunan Dundaye stated.
Alhaji Dundaye also commended Governor Ahmed Aliyu for creating an enabling environment for such interventions and called on other well-meaning individuals and corporate organizations to emulate the gesture.
Several other high profile personalities spoke at the historic event meant at bolstering the image and strength of APC more especially with the 2027 general elections fast approaching.
They included the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the APC National Chairman on Media and Publicity, Alhaji Yusuf Dingyadi, also a veteran journalist, as well as Alhaji SIrajo Hungumawa, Manager, Online Media Unit,, ICT Department, Sokoto State Media Corporation.
Others were the Chairman, Wamakko Local Government Area, Alhaji Umar Ahmed Dundaye, Alhaji Sani Dalla-Dalla, Assistant Financial Secretary, Sokoto State chapter of APC and APC Chairman , Wamakko Local Government Area, Alhaji Umaru Nabara, among others.
All the speakers paid glowing tributes to Dundaye for the unparalleled and invaluable gesture, saying that it would greatly alleviate the suffering of the beneficiaries.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke at the event expressed profound gratitude to the Managing Director, describing the intervention as timely and life-changing.
They pledged to judiciously utilize the cash given to them to improve their livelihoods.
