Kebbi Gov Is Performing Wonderfully Well in Security and Development – Chairman, Optimal Image
By Bashir Rabe Mani in Sokoto
Chairman of Optimal Image Media Ltd and 3rd Eye Africa TV, Alhaji Shuaibu Mungadi, has commended Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for what he described as outstanding performance in security and socio-economic development, saying the Governor has distinguished himself as one of the most proactive leaders in Northern Nigeria.
Mungadi made the remarks in Abuja on Tuesday when he received the Kebbi State Government’s media team led by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi on a courtesy visit .
He observed that unlike many leaders who merely issue statements after security incidents, Governor Idris personally visits affected communities, provides immediate support to victims and consistently equips security agencies with the logistics needed to combat criminality.
He said the Governor’s commitment to protecting lives and property, as well as his compassionate response to victims of attacks, had earned him the confidence and appreciation of the people.
He also applauded the state government’s initiative of engaging media organisations, noting that such advocacy would strengthen public understanding of government policies and deepen collaboration between the media and government.
The media executive disclosed that his newly test-run Lead FM 91.1 in Birnin Kebbi now reaches more than half of Kebbi State, with additional stations operating in Zamfara and another nearing completion in Katsina.
He urged the state government to take advantage of the platform and commended the establishment of the new government-owned radio station in Yauri, describing it as a strategic intervention for public enlightenment and security awareness.
Mungadi reaffirmed the readiness of Optimal Image Media Ltd, 3rd Eye Africa TV and Lead FM to partner with the Kebbi State Government in projecting development programmes and ensuring that citizens remain adequately informed about the administration’s achievements.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, described Mungadi as a patriotic son of Kebbi State and an accomplished media professional whose contributions to democratic governance and media development have earned him national recognition.
He said the visit was aimed at strengthening collaboration with strategic media organisations in promoting factual and balanced reporting of government activities.
The Commissioner stated that Governor Nasir Idris had transformed the developmental landscape of Kebbi State through massive investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture and road construction, fulfilling the overwhelming majority of his campaign promises and changing the narrative of the state.
He highlighted key achievements of the administration, including the recruitment of 2,000 qualified teachers, construction of mega schools across the four emirates, rehabilitation of general hospitals, construction of township and inter-city roads, implementation of workers’ welfare programmes and sustained interventions to improve the living standards of the people.
He added that the Governor had continued to complement federal security efforts through the provision of operational vehicles, equipment and welfare support to security agencies in the fight against insecurity.
