UBEC, FME organize stakeholders’ meeting on implementation of HOPE EDU Project

UBEC, in Collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, has organized a Stakeholders’ Meeting on the Implementation of the HOPE EDU Project.

This was contained in a statement signed by Murtala Muhammadu Danladi Tsamaye, PRO, SUBEB Sokoto, issued in Sokoto.

The Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education, has organized a stakeholders’ meeting on the implementation of the HOPE EDU project for Executive Chairmen and Honourable Commissioners of Education from the North-West and North-East regions, with the aim of achieving effective outcomes and rewarding performance.

The Executive Chairman of the Sokoto State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Umar Nagwari Tambuwal, was among the participants at the three-day meeting, which focused on discussions and sensitization on the HOPE EDU project.

The meeting was held at the main Conference Hall of Hilton Palace Hotel in Kano.

The meeting brought together Directors from various departments and key stakeholders from State Universal Basic Education Boards (SUBEB) and Ministries of Basic and Secondary Education (MoBSE) across the two regions to deliberate on implementation strategies and the overall design of the project.

The objective of the meeting is to strengthen collaboration and ensure effective implementation of the project.

The HOPE EDU project was designed to improve school performance and increase community participation in the education sector.

It will be implemented over a period of five years under the Partnership for Results (P4R) framework.

Among the Directors from Sokoto SUBEB who attended the meeting were: Special Adviser to the Executive Chairman, Alhaji Ahmad Umar Gidadawa, Director, JSS, Malam Muhammad Rabiu Abubakar, Director, Physical Projects, Engr. Sanusi Umar Bunu, Director, Planning, Engr. Tukur Muhammad Yabo,Director, Quality Assurance, Umar Muhammad Sanyinna, Director, Teachers’ Professional Development, Alhaji Ahmad Abdullahi, Director, Primary Education Services, Alhaji Aminu Abubakar.

The meeting concluded on Wednesday, 15th April 2026, with a call on participants to apply the knowledge gained in order to bring about meaningful improvements in the development of education in their respective states.
