SOKOTO APC TREASURER EMPOWERS CONSTITUENTS WITH N31.65M TO COMPLEMENT GOVERNOR, WAMAKKO’S EFFORTS

The Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sokoto State, Alhaji Maniru M. Shehu, has empowered the people of Magajin Gari B Ward with the sum of N31.65 million.
Speaking at the epoch-making event in Sokoto, Shehu said the invaluable gesture was aimed at empowering the beneficiaries to boost their socio-economic activities.
He explained that the donation was also intended to complement the giant strides of Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto and the APC leader in the state, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, in relentlessly extending their widow’s mite to various strata of the society across the state.
Also speaking, the State Chairman of the APC, Alh. Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiya, described the noble gesture of the State Treasurer as unparalleled and worthy of emulation by all and sundry.
Adiya appealed to affluent members of the society to imbibe the habit of assisting the less-privileged, averring that God bestows wealth on individuals not because they are smarter than others, but for them to let others benefit through its circulation.
The disbursement ceremony was attended by top APC leaders in the state, including the State Secretary of the party, Barrister Muhammad Bello and the APC Chairman of Sokoto North Local Government, Hon. Murtala Hassan.
Others were the Chairman of Sokoto North Local Government, Hon. Jamilu Umar Gosta; and the member representing Sokoto North II in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Hussaini Tukur Faru.
The funds were distributed to polling units, ward leaders, neighbours, associates, friends and family members as part of efforts to strengthen unity and good relations between party leaders and their constituents.
