According to him, when it became apparent that he was heading for a landslide victory, some individuals allegedly took the chairman of the election committee to an unknown destination to prevent him from announcing the results.
He said the remaining nine members of the committee subsequently stood by the outcome of the exercise and following the directives from the party’s national leadership, announced the results, declaring him winner of the rerun.

Tijjani Yahaha appealed to his supporters and residents of Zamfara State to remain calm, insisting that he remained the officially declared APC candidate for Zamfara North Senatorial District.
He also dismissed suggestions to institute legal proceedings over the controversy surrounding the announcement of the results, maintaining that he had already secured the party’s official declaration.
He further said that disagreements among party members were normal in politics and should not be mistaken for a lack of unity within the APC.
He expressed confidence that party members would unite behind the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
He thanked his supporters and well-wishers across Zamfara State and beyond for their encouragement, solidarity and congratulatory messages.END
