Hundreds Defect to APC as Amb. Sahabi Gada Flags Off N12.7bn 36km Kware-Gidan Madi Road Reconstruction

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Tanzania, Amb. Sahabi Isa Gada on Thursday 
flagged off the reconstruction of the 36-km Kware-Gidan Madi Road embarked upon by the Sokoto State Government.
The event, held on Thursday in Kware LGA, was part of activities marking the third year anniversary of Sokoto State Governor, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.
The road project is being executed under the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project, RAAMP, and is jointly financed by the World Bank and the Sokoto State Government at a cost of N12.708 billion.
Amb. Gada, who was also a former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, performed the flag-off and described the road as “a road of hope and economic prosperity” for communities in Kware and Gwadabawa LGAs.
The highlight of the ceremony was the defection of hundreds of members of the ADC and PDP into the APC.
The defectors, which included former top state and LG officials, business tycoons and politicians, were received by the State Deputy Chairman of APC, Alhaji Yahaya Buhari Sirridawa, on behalf of Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko and State Chairman Alhaji Haruna Sarkin-Gobir Adiya.
The State Deputy Governor, Engr. Idris Muhammad Gobir, represented Gov. Ahmed Aliyu and assured the new members of equality and equity in the party.
Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto said the administration has constructed over 1,365km of roads across the 23 LGAs since 2023, with another *530km* in the pipeline.
He charged the contractor to deliver on time and urged communities to support the project.
Amb. Gada commended Gov. Aliyu’s leadership and thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,, for federal infrastructure projects in the state.
