Hilaquz-Zikr Association of Nigeria organizes National Prayer Session in Sokoto to bolster unity, security

The Hilaquz-Zikr Association of Nigeria at the weekend in Sokoto rounded up its National Zikir and Prayer Session to further bolster peace, unity and security in Nigeria.
Our Correspondent reports that the historic event, which drew participants from across Nigeria, began on May 2nd and ended on Saturday.
The epochal event, which had as theme: ‘National Zikir and Special Prayer for Sustainable Peace.in Nigeria’, was held at the Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto.
Addressing the mammoth gathering, the Guest Speaker,  Prof. Abubakar Yagawal, Commissioner, Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library Services (PRSILS) in the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), said it was aimed at further boosting unity among the faithful and the generality of the Nigerian citizens.
Prof. Abubakar Yagawal delivered a lecture titled: ” In Summary, What is Zikir and Who Can be Defined As Zakir’.
According to the renowned Islamic scholar, the members of the association from across Nigeria converged on Sokoto with a view to contributing to making Nigeria more spiritually-inclined, so as to have divine solutions to most of the extant challenges facing the country.
The don also said the event cannot come at a better time than now, appealing to the members to adhere strictly to the invaluable and commendable vision and mission of the founding adherents and leaders.
He further said that there is the urgent need for more patience and fervent prayers for the country and the citizens.
Prof. Yagawal also admonished the members to strive more to acquire all forms of education at all levels for them  to be productive and contribute meaningfully to national development.
He also stressed the need to elect credible leaders at all levels with a view to providing the dire needs of Nigerians and moving the nation closer to the Almighty Allah.
Also speaking in a keynote address, Dr Aminu Abdullahi Sokoto (Sufi), the National Education Secretary of the association, disclosed that the mega-event was to hasten the spiritual rejuvenation of the participants as well as take the country closer to God.
