The Wife of the Katsina State Governor, Hajiya Fatima Dikko Radda, has donated ₦10 million through her Pledging Aid Charity Foundation (PAC-F) to support breast cancer patients receiving treatment at the Federal Teaching Hospital, Katsina.
Speaking during the presentation of the donation, Hajiya Fatima said the intervention was designed to ease the financial burden on patients and ensure that financial constraints do not prevent them from accessing essential medical care.
She reaffirmed her commitment to supporting women battling breast cancer, particularly vulnerable patients who require financial assistance to undergo diagnosis, medication and treatment.
“We are committed to supporting women battling breast cancer and ensuring they receive the necessary medical attention. We will continue to extend assistance to vulnerable patients facing different health challenges,” she explained.
Hajiya Fatima emphasised that sustained support, early detection and timely access to treatment remain critical to improving patients’ welfare and chances of recovery.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Hospital’s Health Advisory Committee, Dr. Abdulfatah, who received the cheque on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, commended Hajiya Fatima and the foundation for the timely humanitarian intervention.
He noted that the donation would provide significant relief to patients struggling with the high cost of cancer treatment, describing the support as a meaningful contribution to improving access to healthcare.
Dr. Abdulfatah also called on philanthropists, wealthy individuals and corporate organisations to complement government efforts by supporting patients facing the financial challenges associated with expensive and prolonged medical treatment.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Foundation’s Health Committee, Dr. Gaddafi Yusuf, disclosed that previous interventions by PAC-F had benefited nearly 100 cancer patients through financial assistance for diagnosis, medication and treatment.
He assured that the foundation would sustain its humanitarian interventions, particularly in addressing financial barriers to healthcare and extending support to vulnerable patients in need of essential medical services.
