Empowerment: Kwanni Women Pour Encomiums on DG Abubakar Bawa

Women of Unguwar Kwanni in Sokoto South Local Government Area of Sokoto State have held a special gathering to express gratitude and reaffirm their support for the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Bawa, for his contributions to improving the lives of the people of Kwanni and its environs.
The gathering provided an opportunity for the women to commend the Director General for his efforts in supporting the community, particularly in the areas of job creation, assistance to the less privileged and support for education of orphans.
During the event, the women said the contributions of Alhaji Bawa have greatly helped members of the community and opened doors for them to achieve progress and improve their livelihoods.
They said among the commendable gestures was his support in helping youths and other members of the community to secure jobs and appointments in various organisations.
They also disclosed that seven of the beneficiaries are currently undergoing training at the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, describing it as an opportunity that will help them acquire knowledge and skills for a brighter future.
In addition, the women emphasized that the Director General’s assistance covers the less privileged and other vulnerable persons in the community, which they described as commendable and encouraging.
Another important aspect of his contribution, they mentioned, is the sponsorship of 200 orphans enrolled in primary schools, with provision of school materials and uniforms to ease their access to education.
They noted that education is the foundation of societal development, and supporting orphans to acquire education helps to build a bright future for them and the society at large.
The women used the opportunity to call on wealthy individuals, community leaders and other patriotic citizens in the area to emulate the kind gesture of helping the people, especially in supporting youths, the less privileged and orphans.
The event took place at ‘Yan Harawa Ground in Unguwar Kwanni and was attended by the wives of the Director General, Hajiya Shafa’atu and Hajiya Maryam Bawa, alongside other women who came to show their support and gratitude.
The participants expressed hope that such community support efforts will be sustained to strengthen unity and cooperation among stakeholders committed to the development of the area and to provide a better life for the people of Kwanni and its environs.
