Dr Ndagi, Registrar Nursing Council felicitates IBB at 85, describes him as an iconic Nigerian elder statesman

Dr Alhassan Ndagi, Registrar, Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN), has congratulated former President, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd.), on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
Ndagi, in a congratulatory message made available to newsmen in Minna on Monday, described Babangida as an iconic Nigerian elder statesman whose contributions to the development of the country would continue to attract recognition and commendation.
He said the former military Head of State had remained a towering figure in Nigeria’s political history, noting that his years of service to the nation were marked by significant decisions and policies that shaped the country’s socio-economic and political development.
The Registrar commended Babangida for his enduring commitment to national unity, peace and development, as well as his continued counsel on issues affecting the progress and stability of Nigeria.
According to him, reaching the age of 85 is not only a milestone worthy of celebration but also an opportunity to reflect on the former president’s remarkable journey of service to the nation.
“On behalf of my family, colleagues and associates, I warmly congratulate His Excellency, Gen. Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd.), on the occasion of his 85th birthday.
“Your Excellency’s life has been one of remarkable service, leadership and sacrifice for Nigeria. Your contributions to nation-building and your wealth of experience remain invaluable to present and future generations.
“I pray that Almighty Allah continues to grant you good health, wisdom and strength, and bless you with many more years of peace and fulfilment,” Ndagi said.
He further prayed for continued guidance and protection for the former president, wishing him many more years of good health and happiness in the company of his family, friends and well-wishers.
Ndagi also urged Nigerians, particularly younger generations, to continue to draw lessons from the experiences of elder statesmen such as Babangida in their efforts to build a more united, peaceful and prosperous nation.
