BUA Cement offers automatic employment to 52 youths trained on operation of heavy duty equipment

BUA Cement Plc on Wednesday in Sokoto announced the automatic employment of no fewer than 52 out of the 60 unemployed youths trained by the firm on the operation of heavy duty equipment.
Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that the youths who were drawn from the various host communities of the company from across Wamakko Local Government Area of Sokoto State had successfully completed the six-month training wholly organized and funded by the firm.
Speaking at the event, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Industry, Alhaji Haruna Abbas Bashir, said that the event is more than a graduation ceremony.
Aliyu said, “It is a celebration of empowerment, opportunity, and hope.
Skills acquisition remains one of the most effective tools for addressing unemployment, reducing poverty and promoting inclusive economic growth.
“It equips individuals not only to earn a living but also to become innovators,
entrepreneurs and employers of labour.
“I commend BUA’s for complementing government efforts through this laudable initiative.
“The private sector has a critical role today in human capital development
development and programs such as this demonstrate a positive impact that can be achieved when corporate organizations invest in the development of their host communities and the nation’s workforce.”
The Governor who congratulated the graduates, on reaching the important milestone, maintained that event was not merely evidence of attendance.
Aliyu added, “It represents the knowledge, discipline and practical skills you have acquired.
“The real task begins now. I encourage you to put these skills to productive use,
continue learning, uphold the highest standards of professionalism and
integrity, and seek opportunities to create value within your communities.
“The Sokoto State Government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses who thrive and for our youth and women to realize their full economic potential.
“We will continue to encourage initiatives that promote entrepreneurship,
innovation, vocational training and sustainable livelihoods. I also encourage development partners, corporate organizations and other stakeholders to emulate this initiative.
“By working together, we can equip more of our young people with the skills
and opportunities they need to contribute meaningfully to the social
economic development of our state and our country.”
Also speaking, the Managing Director of the company, Engr. Yusuf Binji, represented by Alhaji Sada Suleiman, Assistant Director, Administration and Corporate Services, said that the historic event was part of the firm’s unwavering commitment to further reduce the high unemployment rate in the country.
Engr. Yusuf Binji further said that the firm would not relent in the execution of its routine corporate social responsibility projects as a way of appreciating the extant cordial relationship between it, Sokoto State Government and its various host communities.
The Chairman of Wamakko Local Government Area, Alhaji Umaru Muhammad Dundaye, applauded the company for being a worthy and dependable partner with the host communities.
Dundaye further stated that the communities would remain grateful to the firm for its various interventions ranging from health, agriculture, water supply and safety education, among others.
The District Head of Sabon Garin Gedawa, Alhaji Shehu Dan Galadima,who spoke on behalf of the traditional rulers also commended the firm for coming to the aid of its host communities in a myriad of ways, saying, “it is complementing the efforts of the government to improve the well-being of the people.”
A cross section of the graduates who were also full of praises for the company for being their benefactor, promised to be diligent and law-abiding in the discharge of their duties.
