ACCEPTANCE AND DECLARATION STATEMENT TO CONTEST AS SENATOR REPRESENTING SOKOTO EASTERN SENATORIAL DISTRICT, SOKOTO STATE

Following his registration as a card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in August 2025, Alh. Umar Ajiya Isa, _Ajiyan Sokoto_, has been the subject of sustained calls from the people of Sokoto Eastern Senatorial District to offer himself for service at the National Assembly as Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
These calls have emanated from the leadership of the APC at all levels, political associates, friends, family members, and constituents across the eight local governments of Sokoto East. In keeping with his tradition of consultation and respect for the people’s will, _Ajiyan Sokoto_ undertook wide engagements to properly understand the aspirations of his constituents.
Guided by the principle _vox populi, vox Dei_ — the voice of the people is the voice of God — and inspired by his lifelong dedication to community service and philanthropy, Alh. Umar Ajiya Isa hereby accepts the clarion call to serve.
Accordingly, the Ajiyan Sokoto Coordination Committee in Support of APC formally declares that Alh. Umar Ajiya Isa has offered himself to contest the Sokoto Eastern Senatorial District seat on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2027 General Elections.
This declaration is not driven by personal ambition or self-aggrandizement but by a sincere commitment to deliver purposeful, impactful representation that will uplift the people of Sokoto East. His entry into politics remains anchored on service. While navigating the political terrain, he reaffirms his unwavering loyalty to our esteemed leaders, whose wisdom, guidance, and mentorship will continue to shape his values and vision. Ajiyan Sokoto deeply expresses his appreciation to the entire people of the Sokoto Eastern Senatorial District for this show of wonderful love and confidence repose in him.
On his behalf, we appeal to all supporters, stakeholders, party faithful, and the good people of Sokoto East to reject politics of bitterness and embrace issue-based engagement. Let us work together in peace and unity for the progress of our district, Sokoto State, and Nigeria at large.
