National Police Day: Sokoto State Command sensitizes public on electoral violence, safe driving

As part of the ongoing National Police Day 2026 activities, the Sokoto State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Hayatu Hassan Shaffa, organized sensitization lectures at the Sokoto Central Motor Park.
The event was attended by the AIG Zone 10, AIG Gyogon A. Grimah, alongside stakeholders, members of the Police-Community Relations Committee (PCRC), youths groups, motor park leaders, drivers, and the Road Transport Owners’ Association, Okada riders Association and Tricycles riders Association.
This was contained in a statement signed by Ahmad Rufa’i, spokesperson of the command, issued in Sokoto on Wednesday.
CSP Sidi G. Shinkafi, Officer-in-Charge of the State Motor Traffic Division, delivered a presentation on the Importance of Safe Driving Practices, while CSP Abdulaziz Isha Baura, Divisional Police Officer of Kwanni, spoke on the Dangers of Electoral Violence.
Addressing the audience, AIG Zone 10 Sokoto commended the public for their collaboration in tackling crime and urged the people of the Caliphate to avoid all forms of violence, particularly during election period.
 He also called on road users to observe traffic rules and safety regulations.
