Jadda Garko Rejects Yusuf’s Campaign Council Appointment, Reaffirms Support for Tinubu
…Says he was not consulted, would have nominated another person if approached
Jamilu Jadda Garko, Chairman of the Da Hannuna campaign team under the Arewa for Asiwaju group, has rejected his appointment as an Assistant Director in the entertainment category of Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s campaign council, citing the failure to consult him before his name was included on the list.
In a statement issued on Monday night, Garko said he would not participate in the council’s activities until he was properly consulted about the appointment.
He explained that if the governor’s team had contacted him before announcing the appointment, he would have recommended another person for the position rather than accepting it himself.
Garko’s name appeared as number 169 on the list of members of the governor’s campaign council under the entertainment category.
While appreciating Governor Yusuf for considering him worthy of the appointment, Garko maintained that he would continue to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) and work for its success in the 2027 general elections.
“I appreciate Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for finding me worthy of the appointment. However, I was not consulted before my name was included in the list, and I will not accept the appointment until consulted,” he said.
Garko added that his political commitment remained with the APC, stressing that he would continue to work for the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.
“I will continue to work assiduously for the success of the APC, but I will not participate in Governor Yusuf’s campaign council,” he said.
As chairman of the Da Hannuna campaign team under the Arewa for Asiwaju group, Garko has been involved in efforts to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.
He reaffirmed his commitment to continue working with the APC and the Arewa for Asiwaju group ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Garko reiterated his determination to work for the success of the APC and support President Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
