2027: Councillors purchase N50m Expression of Interest, Nomination Forms for Sokoto Governor

Councillors from the 244 Political Wards from across the 23 Local Government Areas of Sokoto State on Monday purchased the N50 million Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for Gov. Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto.

Our Correspondent in Sokoto reports that in fulfilment of their gesture, the Councillors presented a N50million Dummy Cheque to the State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Haruna Sarkin Gobir Adiya.

Adiya, who described the gesture as unprecedented and unparalleled in the history of Sokoto State, added that the Governor deserves the invaluable widow”s mite from the Councillors.

According to him, the Governor is youthful, pious, agile, dexterous and energetic, saying, “he is the leading Governor in the country now.

“He has redeemed all the pledges he had made to the people of the state and had achieved a lot well above his 9-Point Smart Agenda.

“Therefore, APC is proud of what you have done for our most indefatigable and amiable Governor.”

Speaking earlier, the Chairman, Councillors’ Forum of Nigeria, Sokoto State chapter, Alhaji Nura Umar Goronyo said that their noble historic action was informed by the colossal achievements Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto from 2023 to date.

According to the Chairman of the forum, Gov. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto has done a lot to change the infrastructural landscape of Sokoto State since his election in 2023.

He also commended the APC leader in Sokoto State, Sen. Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko for providing the right and timely guidance and wise counsel to the Governor since his election.
