Traditional Shaving Ceremony Held for Newly Turbaned District Head of Sanyinna

A traditional shaving ceremony was today performed in honour of the newly turbaned District Head of Sanyinna, Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Sanyinna.
The historic event, held at the District Head’s palace in Sanyinna, attracted a large gathering of dignitaries and well-wishers. Among those in attendance were the Governor of Sokoto State, Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, represented by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala; the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, represented by the District Head of Dogon Daji; the Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area; the Chief of Staff, Government House Sokoto; traditional rulers from Sokoto and Kebbi States; as well as people from all walks of life.
The traditional shaving exercise was led by Sarkin askin Sanyinna, Malam Mode, who, alongside his team, performed the ceremony while guests watched with great interest and admiration.
The event also featured entertaining cultural displays by traditional boxers, Yan Tauri, local musicians, and artists who showcased their talents to the delight of the audience.
Speaking on behalf of Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, Professor Ahmad Ladan Ala congratulated the new District Head on the successful hosting of the ceremony. He reiterated the commitment of the state government to the provision of quality education and infrastructural development aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
In a message delivered on behalf of the Sultan of Sokoto, the District Head of Dogon Daji urged members of the community to uphold good moral values and social norms, while ensuring that younger generations are properly guided and nurtured.
In his remarks, the District Head of Sanyinna, Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Sanyinna, expressed profound appreciation to all those who supported him in one way or another towards the successful organisation of the historic occasion. He called on his subjects to refrain from engaging in traditional practices that do not add value to the community, while assuring them of his commitment to facilitating projects that would have direct benefits for society.
In their separate remarks, Barrister Aliyu Abubakar Sanyinna and Ibrahim Umar, Special Adviser to Governor Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto on Special Projects, thanked all those who attended the ceremony and pledged their continued support and cooperation to the District Head in the discharge of his responsibilities.
