Service, Not Status: Jodi Pledges Welfare, Rule of Law, and Humanity-First Leadership for Caliphate Bar

The newly elected Chairman of the Caliphate Bar, Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Sokoto State Chapter, Barrister Bashir Muazu Jodi, Esq., has pledged to run the affairs of the Bar diligently, patriotically, and with an unwavering commitment to service.
In a statement issued on Friday in Sokoto, Jodi said his administration will be anchored on four pillars: bolstering the welfare of members, upholding fairness and equity, boosting the rule of law, and deepening service to humanity.
He said, “I am deeply humbled by the tremendous confidence reposed in me and in all the new executives of the NBA in the state.
“Our mandate is clear: to protect the dignity of the legal profession, improve the welfare of our members, and ensure that justice is not just spoken, but seen and felt in Sokoto.”
The new Chairman also promised to sustain the extant cordial relationship between the NBA in the state and the Sokoto State Government, as well as with the Judiciary, security agencies, civil society, and a myriad of other critical stakeholders.
“The Bar cannot stand alone. We will partner with government and stakeholders, without compromising our independence, to strengthen access to justice, defend constitutional rights, and promote peace and order,” he added.
Jodi was elected on Wednesday, June 24,2026, to lead the Caliphate Bar into a new tenure focused on accountability, member welfare, and impactful legal advocacy in the Seat of the Caliphate.

The new leaders of the NBA in Sokoto State are expected to lead the Caliphate Bar to greater heights in the next two years.
