Keep Transforming Kebbi, Ignore Detractors, Global TV MD Urges Gov Idris

The acting Managing Director and General Manager of Global Television, Hajiya Aisha Larai Musa, has applauded the Governor of Kebbi State, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, for his developmental strides and positive impact on the lives of the people. She also assured the state government of the station’s continued support in projecting its achievements.
Speaking on Wednesday in Abuja while receiving the Kebbi State Government media delegation led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, Hajiya Aisha described the visit as one of the happiest moments of her career. She expressed appreciation to the delegation for identifying with her and the station.
She reaffirmed her commitment to promoting the image of Kebbi State, stressing that the state would always remain her foremost priority.
The Global Television boss noted that Governor Nasir Idris had distinguished himself through purposeful leadership and people-oriented projects across critical sectors. She urged the governor to remain focused on his development agenda and not allow detractors or political opponents to distract him from completing the transformation of Kebbi State.
“I am glad to hear that the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu, is working. In very simple English, I can say he is working, and that is highly commendable.
“It is highly commendable. He should never listen to detractors,” she said.
She pledged that Global Television, which broadcasts on the DStv, StarTimes and FreeTV platforms, would continue to give prominence to the activities and achievements of the Kebbi State Government.
She also called for closer collaboration with the state’s media team, particularly through the regular supply of video footage to complement press releases and enhance television coverage.
Hajiya Aisha further commended the state government’s proactive response to misinformation, especially on issues relating to security.
She disclosed that following reports alleging the emergence of a new terrorist group in Kebbi State, she immediately contacted the Commissioner of Police, who appeared on Global Television to clarify the situation and reassure the public after security agencies confirmed that the report was false.
Earlier, the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed Birnin Kebbi, thanked the management of Global Television for its unwavering support and cooperation with the Kebbi State Government.
He described Hajiya Aisha as a distinguished daughter of Kebbi State who has continued to make the state proud through her outstanding contributions to journalism and national broadcasting.
The Commissioner explained that the media engagement in Abuja was part of the Kebbi State Government’s strategic advocacy visits to major media organisations aimed at strengthening partnerships and showcasing the remarkable achievements of Governor Nasir Idris in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, security and other critical sectors.
He observed that the governor had transformed the developmental landscape of the state within just three years in office.
Alhaji Yakubu also expressed concern over what he described as deliberate campaigns of misinformation by some opposition elements seeking to tarnish the image of the state. He cited recent false reports on child mortality and the purported emergence of a new terrorist group in Kebbi, stressing that investigations by the relevant authorities had disproved the allegations.
He called on media organisations to uphold professionalism by verifying information before publication.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Kebbi State Government’s commitment to sustaining mutually beneficial relationships with credible media organisations in promoting good governance, transparency and development.
He expressed confidence that continued collaboration with Global Television would further enhance public awareness of the achievements of Governor Nasir Idris’ administration.
