The Minister of State for Defence, Mr Mohammed Bello Matawalle, has reassured that critics and oppositions against good stewardship President Bola Tinubu will surely be ashamed in the 2027 elections.
Matawalle made the remarks in his solidarity message represented through his Special Adviser on Politics, Hon Ibrahim Maigandi Danmalikin Gidan Goga at the Contact and Sensitization Retreat organised by North-West Tunubu/Matawalle Peace and Unity Initiatives on Tuesday in Sokoto.
He condemned Tinubu’s critics describing them as “perpetrators of falsehood, lies, mischief and propaganda aimed at tarnishing the good image of Mr President and his administrative performances.”
He said their lies and mischievous propaganda will not in any way affect the President’s positive stewardship and giant strides developmental transformations.
According to him, President Tinubu is still among “the best leaders with people’s interest at heart, selfless service and confronted nations’ challenges especially tackling insecurity and poor governance inherited from past administrations.”
He said Tinubu ensured the execution of laudable projects in all sectors with adequate support on Nigerian Army and other security agencies towards confronting security challenges bedeviling the nation, particularly the North that was enmeshed into such challenges.
Matawalle added that Tinubu prioritised economic, educational, human and capital development for national growth which would ease the citizens’ sufferings and rejuvenate poverty reduction among Nigerians.
” It was a surprise that some groups of Nigerians partner with some individuals on tarnishing the image of Mr President despite his efforts for the country’s peaceful coexistence, unity and progress.
” The unscrupulous elements have engaged youths with no focus and vision for national development, spreading falsehood, promoting negative propaganda against the office of Mr President and criticizing his good performances for their selfish interests,” he said.
Matawalle described Tinubu as an amiable leader with focus on solving Nigeria’s challenges and spearheading a peaceful, united and developed country.
He enjoined youths to embrace virtues, avoid spreading falsehood and unfounded information that would plunge the county to chaos and disharmony.
The Minister further advised politicians to become proactive to community development and national economic progress as well as stability.
In his address, Malam Yusuf Abubakar, the Lead Convener, explained that the group was formed to mobilize colossal support for the re-election of the President Tinubu through showcasing his quality leadership and his focus towards developing the nation.
Abubakar emphasized the need for sustained collaboration with other stakeholders in educating Nigerians on President Tinubu’s stewardship for nation’s stability, economic and infrastructural development.
He commended Matawalle for instituting the awareness forum and urged him not to relent in mustering support to actualize Tinubu’s second term in office.
According to him, no fewer than 58 community leaders of various groups and associations from Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara and Kaduna States participated in the retreat.
